<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> Job Summary The Technologist - Cath Lab functions independently as a member of the patient care team that includes registered nurses, cardiovascular technologists, and physicians. This individual is responsible for helping to develop and implement systems to assure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Cardiovascular Lab. Duties for this position include but are not limited to: hemodynamic monitoring, circulating and scrubbing roles during invasive cardiovascular and basic EP procedures and other scheduled procedures. This position also includes patient teaching, assisting with pre and post patient assessment and patient care within scope of practice. This individual is able to demonstrate technical expertise in working with electrophysiology and cardiovascular patients during invasive diagnostic and interventional angiographic procedures. The scope of responsibility, duties and accountability at the facility department and position levels including knowledge and practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position consistent with the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) Cardiovascular Technologist Scope of Practice. Job Responsibilities 1 Provides hemodynamic monitoring of patients during basic EP and cardiovascular procedures and other scheduled procedures, assists with pre and post patient assessment and patient care within scope of practice, patient teaching, circulating during invasive cardiovascular and EP procedures. Demonstrates technical expertise in working with electrophysiology and cardiovascular patients during invasive diagnostic and interventional angiographic procedures. Provides patient care under limited supervision within a broad range of health care needs in cardiac special procedures such as basic electrophysiology diagnostic and interventional procedures, implantable cardiac devices and, cardiac peripheral vascular and nephrology diagnostic interventional procedures. Collects and documents chronological events of the procedure and medical care during the procedure. Assists the physician in the performance of pediatric and adult invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures. Develops and integrates standards of care for patients presenting to the lab. Job Responsibilities 2 Delivers competent and age specific care to patients based on departmental policies, procedures, and standards across a variety of populations and complexity of situations. Demonstrates knowledge of cardiovascular medications, vasopressors and anti-arrhythmic agents including dosing, side effects, and drug interactions per ACLS guidelines. Able to identify adverse events or unanticipated outcomes using critical thinking skills and notifies the medical staff including nurses and physicians appropriately. Demonstrates technical skills, trouble shooting skills, and expert knowledge of catheters and equipment used during EP and cardiovascular procedures. Demonstrates a basic understanding of radiological safety, shielding techniques, imaging skills and X-ray equipment, analyzing and recording equipment and other equipment utilized. Implements safe, competent, and efficient procedure care to cardiovascular patients within policies, procedures, and standards of care across a variety of populations and complexity of situations within the scope of practice. Additional Responsibilities 3 Job Knowledge & Skills Demonstrates commitment to customer service and an ability to meet the needs and expectations of patients and health care colleagues. Working knowledge of Cardiovascular Technologist Scope of Practice, The Joint Commission International and other local regulatory requirements. Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of health care technology within specialty area. Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information for decision support. Job Experience Three (3) years in invasive cardiovascular laboratory post-graduation. RCIS, RCIT, CEPS (Certification of Special Competency in Cardiac Electrophysiology for Associated Professionals). <h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> Job Summary The Dialysis Technologist will undertake dialysis for renal patients alongside dialysis RNs, provide care associated with dialysis, daily maintenance of dialysis equipment and water purification systems, maintaining the proper buffer solutions for each patient on dialysis, applying quality assurance measures needed by department. Job Responsibilities 1 <ul> <li>Determines the supply and equipment as per the schedule of dialysis procedure.</li> <li>Prepares the machines for procedures including calibrating, testing and monitoring dialysis equipment.</li> <li>Fixes and primes the extracorporeal circuit such as dialyzer, blood tubing for the appropriate dialysis procedure and performs the internal safety test.</li> <li>Prepares the specific dialysis solutions according to Nephrology physician orders.</li> <li>Checks hemodialysis solutions conductivity, PH, and electrolyte composition daily and records it, and corrects/reports any abnormal values.</li> <li>Obtains pharmaceutical supplies and equipment as requested by nephrologists.</li> <li>Connects patients to Hemodialysis and SLED and terminates the procedure at the end of the treatment.</li> <li>Sets up and prepares CRRT machine for treatment in critical care areas in different modalities such as CVVH, CVVHD, CVVHDF, and SCUF.</li> <li>Performs tests and procedures related to specific patient treatment such as UF profile, sodium profile, and single needle dialysis options.</li> <li>Continually monitors the machines functionality and patients’ vital signs when patient on hemodialysis and corrects any malfunction.</li> </ul> Sets up and prepares dialysis machines and portable reverse osmosis units at bedside in different patient units including but not limited to critical care, oncology, pediatric units. Job Responsibilities 2 <ul> <li>Sets and administers anticoagulant for extracorporeal circuit per physician orders.</li> <li>Responds, alongside the registered charge nurses, to hypotension episodes during dialysis by administering IV fluids in the extracorporeal circuit according to physician orders.</li> <li>Continually maintains immediate availability to coordinate in the emergent events of hypo allergic reactions, hypovolemic shock, and emergency procedures including code blue.</li> <li>Maintains cleanliness of dialysis machines, internal and external disinfection after every care following procedures established by infection control team.</li> <li>Assists in the disinfection of the water treatment plant.</li> <li>Collects water sample for monthly test for dissolved chemicals, metals and microbiology.</li> <li>Tests the endotoxin level in the water and dialysis solutions and keeps records of results.</li> <li>Sets and makes ready the water treatment plant on daily basis by performing regeneration, back wash and tests the sample of chlorine, chloramine, and hardness of the product water.</li> <li>Calculates the urea reduction ration for each dialysis patient to maintain the adequacy of the treatment provided and submits report to nephrologist.</li> </ul> Additional Responsibilities 3 Job Knowledge & Skills <ul> <li>Knowledge of various dialysis techniques and protocols. </li> <li>Proficiency in setting up, operating, and monitoring dialysis machines.</li> <li>Understanding of kidney function and diseases.</li> <li>Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures related to dialysis.</li> <li>Knowledge of quality and safety standards and guidelines.</li> <li>Attention to detail and problem solving.</li> <li>Time management</li> </ul> Physical endurance to stand for long periods and assist in lifting or positioning patients. The ideal candidate should have strong fault-finding skills and ensure the safe and reliable operation of all electrical equipment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in industrial machines and workshop equipment. Maintain motors, generators, MCC panels, control panels, breakers, and power distribution systems. Install and repair industrial wiring, cable trays, lighting, and electrical connections. Diagnose faults in old industrial machinery and electrical systems. Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance activities. Test motors, circuits, and electrical components using appropriate testing equipment. Support workshop startup, commissioning, and field maintenance activities.
