Setting and Reporting The UN Secretary-General launched on 1 January 2019 a bold and new global reform which repositioned the UN Development System to deliver more effectively and efficiently with the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. As part of this reform, UN Resident Coordinator Offices (UN RCO), under the leadership of an empowered and independent UN Resident Coordinator - the highest-ranking official of the UN Development System and Representative of the UN Secretary-General at country level - support countries in the achievement of their development priorities and the attainment of the SDG's. By highlighting the interconnectedness of food systems with challenges such as hunger, climate change, poverty, and inequality, the Summit led countries to develop national food systems transformation pathways under the leadership of appointed National Convenors.</p><p>Objective</p><p>The consultant will support the preparation of the national food systems transformation pathway of Libya. This will include assessing the current state of food systems, mapping key stakeholders, supporting the organization of a structured consultation, and translating agreed priorities into a draft pathway document in coordination with the National Food Systems Focal Point in the Government of Libya and ESCWA. In doing so, the consultant will draw upon ongoing regional initiatives on food systems transformation and ensure close alignment with regional consultation processes and timelines.
