Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the licensed anesthesia provider in various settings, performing duties under the direct supervision of the licensed anesthesia provider, and providing support for routine surgical cases. Executes the Malignant Hyperthermia protocol as it pertains to the preparation of the anesthesia machine. The Charge Nurse consistently demonstrates excellence in all areas of nursing practice including nursing care delivery, staff education, and collaboration. Evaluates and works to improve the process of patient care delivery within the unit. The Charge Nurse manages complex, unpredictable patient care situations and is a nursing shift leader. Serves as a clinical and operational resource to the nursing staff. The Charge Nurse serves as the mentor on the unit with the goal of increasing nurse engagement, professional development of their staff, and safe quality care with improved outcomes. The scope of responsibility, duties and accountability at the facility department and position levels including knowledge and practice of the clinical/technical skills necessary to the position consistent with the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) Nursing/Midwifery Competency Framework and Scope of Practice. Nursing job duties are to meet the Joint Commission International and the Plan of Care, and other regulatory requirements.
