Lead Product Manager – Discovery
Reporting to: Senior Director of Product – Discovery Location: Remote Job Purpose
A growing e-commerce company operating across the GCC is looking for a Lead Product Manager – Discovery to shape how customers explore its digital platform and decide what to purchase. The role will own the key discovery experiences, including Search, Browse, Homepage, Product Detail Pages, CMS, catalogue experience, and customer shopping journeys. You will lead a cross-functional squad, define the Discovery roadmap, and balance rapid experimentation with foundational improvements across search quality, SEO, navigation, personalization, and catalogue usability.
This position will directly contribute to conversion, revenue, customer satisfaction, and the overall digital shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Discovery Strategy and Vision
Define and own the Discovery vision across Search, Browse, Homepage, Product Detail Pages, SEO, and catalogue systems. Identify evolving customer behaviours and translate insights into long-term product strategies. Develop relevant, intuitive, and efficient product-discovery journeys. Improve how customers find, compare, and select products across multiple markets.
2. Roadmap and Prioritisation
Build an integrated roadmap covering Search, Browse, PDP, SEO, CMS, personalization, and catalogue improvements. Prioritise initiatives based on customer value, commercial impact, data insights, and technical feasibility. Balance quick experiments with long-term platform and system improvements.
3. Execution and Delivery
Lead the product squad through discovery, scoping, delivery, launch, and ongoing optimisation. Develop product requirements, define success metrics, and ensure alignment with Engineering and UX. Manage the release cadence and maintain visibility of progress, dependencies, and risks. Conduct A/B tests and post-launch reviews to evaluate impact and improve features.
4. Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner closely with UX, Engineering, Data, Marketing, Commercial, Operations, and Customer Experience teams. Collaborate with other Product Managers to create a connected end-to-end customer journey. Present product insights, recommendations, trade-offs, and decisions clearly to senior stakeholders. Build alignment across business and technical teams around Discovery priorities.
5. Team Leadership and Development
Manage, coach, and develop junior product talent. Promote strong product thinking, experimentation discipline, and customer-focused execution. Support the recruitment and onboarding of additional product team members as the business grows.
6. Analytics and Experimentation
Use customer research, funnel analysis, and search and browsing metrics to identify opportunities. Partner with Data teams to define metrics, develop dashboards, and assess experiments. Lead the SEO product strategy and ensure the technical foundations support multi-market growth. Monitor key metrics such as search success, zero-result searches, product engagement, add-to-cart rate, conversion, and revenue.
Qualifications and Experience
5–8 years of product management experience within e-commerce, marketplaces, retail technology, or search-heavy digital products. Proven experience owning Search, Browse, Product Detail Pages, Catalogue, Personalization, SEO, or similar discovery systems. Strong analytical skills, with experience using SQL, dashboards, funnel analysis, and experimentation. Demonstrated success leading cross-functional delivery and agile product squads. Strong understanding of UX and the ability to translate customer insights into intuitive shopping journeys. Experience managing or mentoring Product Managers is preferred. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and prioritisation skills.
