Global Procurement Transformation Leader Location: Germany Industry: Automotive Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and strategic Global Procurement Transformation Leader to drive the transformation of procurement operations across our international automotive business. The role will focus on procurement strategy, operational optimization, cost transformation, supplier performance, digital procurement initiatives, and organizational efficiency across global markets. Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will play a critical role in aligning procurement strategy with the company’s long-term business objectives while enhancing operational excellence, resilience, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a global procurement transformation strategy aligned with corporate objectives Lead procurement optimization initiatives across sourcing, supplier management, category management, and supply chain operations Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and procurement efficiency programs globally Establish procurement governance frameworks, KPIs, reporting structures, and performance dashboards for executive leadership Identify opportunities for process automation, digital procurement transformation, and data-driven decision-making Build and maintain strategic relationships with key global suppliers, OEMs, and automotive partners Lead supplier evaluation, negotiation strategies, risk management, and contract optimization initiatives Collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams including operations, finance, manufacturing, and supply chain Monitor market trends, geopolitical risks, commodity fluctuations, and supplier landscape changes impacting the automotive sector Lead procurement transformation projects including organizational restructuring, process redesign, and change management initiatives Ensure compliance with global procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability standards Present strategic procurement insights and transformation progress directly to the CEO and executive board
Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field Master’s Degree or MBA is highly preferred12+ years of progressive experience within procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain leadership roles Strong background within the automotive industry, preferably across OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or multinational automotive groups Proven experience leading large-scale procurement transformation and optimization initiatives globally Strong expertise in procurement strategy, category management, supplier negotiations, and operational excellence Experience implementing procurement technologies, ERP systems, and digital transformation solutions Excellent analytical, commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Strong executive presence with the ability to influence C-level leadership Experience managing multicultural and international procurement teams Fluency in English is required; German language skills would be an advantage
