Job Description
Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Backend/Rust Engineer to design and build next-generation risk analysis, monitoring, and solvency protection systems. This role sits at the intersection of quantitative reasoning, protocol mechanics, and real-time market intelligence.
The ideal candidate brings strong backend engineering expertise, comfort with complex financial systems, and a startup mindset focused on ownership and impact. While experience with Solana is preferred, engineers from other Web3 ecosystems (e.g., Solidity or WASM-based runtimes) are encouraged to apply. Prior exposure to DeFi, finance, or quantitative engineering is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain backend systems supporting real-time risk analysis and protocol solvency. Develop and operate data pipelines that transform raw on-chain, market, and protocol data into actionable insights. Build monitoring and alerting systems that detect and respond to market conditions and systemic risk events. Shape and evolve data ingestion pipelines while acting as an early consumer of risk, market, and on-chain data. Generate automated insights and alerts based on protocol activity, market movements, and risk thresholds. Improve backend-adjacent operational workflows, including liquidation planning, token rebalancing, and treasury or free-funds management. Collaborate closely with engineering and product stakeholders in a fast-paced, startup environment.
Requirements
2+ years of professional experience writing production-grade Rust.2–5 years of experience working with data pipelines (e.g., Sqlmesh, DBT, or similar tools). Strong quantitative reasoning skills, with the ability to model complex system behavior and risk scenarios. Comfort working in ambiguous environments with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Proven ability to ship high-quality backend systems efficiently in a startup or fast-moving environment.
Nice to Have
1+ years of hands-on Solana development experience. Experience with infrastructure and Kubernetes, including IaC tools such as Terraform or Pulumi. Strong understanding of Web3 fundamentals (accounts, programs, oracles, cross-program invocation, cryptography basics). Experience working with DeFi protocols, risk engines, or on-chain financial primitives. Contributions to open-source blockchain or DeFi projects. Type Script experience, particularly for smart contract integrations.
