We are rapidly scaling our teams, and you’ll work on a massive greenfield fintech project: building a secure, compliant platform that brings together crypto, fiat, banking, and investments in one intuitive experience. Our products include digital wallets, crypto cards, SWIFT and SEPA transfers, debit and virtual cards, POS integrations, and access to stocks, staking, credit products, and IPOs.

The platform is designed from first principles: no legacy core, no vendor lock-in, and no shortcuts on correctness. The work involves architecting systems that literally move money at scale across borders and asset classes. You will lead the global payments architecture, a role that is absolutely critical to the product and offers exceptional freedom and impact.
Your Impact Payment Rail Orchestration; Architect microservices that move money across SEPA (Instant & Credit), SWIFT, and Faster Payments, bridging synchronous banking rails with asynchronous internal ledgers. Card Issuing & Processing Integrations; Design adapters and abstractions for card providers across Europe and the Middle East, ensuring portability, regulatory compliance, and clean separation from core logic. Ledger Integrity & Reconciliation; Build a double-entry ledger within a microservices architecture, ensuring internal balances always reconcile with external bank statements via automated, 24/7 reconciliation pipelines. Fiat ↔ Crypto On- and Off-Ramps; Collaborate on architectures that lock fiat prices while awaiting blockchain confirmations, managing slippage, liquidity exposure, and user guarantees in volatile markets. Compliance by Design; Embed AML, KYC, and PSD2 requirements directly into the system architecture by designing reporting and monitoring pipelines that satisfy regulators without degrading user experience. Architecture as a Shared Language; Document the system end-to-end: business capabilities, processes, domain objects, microservices, events, and data flows. Own ADRs and ensure alignment across product, engineering, and Dev Ops. Provider Abstraction Strategy; Lead integrations with Banking-as-a-Service providers while designing clean API abstractions that allow provider switching without rewriting the core platform. Idempotency & Resilience; Enforce strict idempotency guarantees across all payment flows so money is never duplicated—even under retries, crashes, or race conditions. High-Concurrency Performance Tuning; Optimize Postgre SQL locking and transaction strategies to support peak-load trading and payment activity without deadlocks or balance inconsistencies.
Your Background Hands-on experience with payment rails (SEPA, SWIFT, ACH, Faster Payments) Familiarity with card issuing ecosystems, 3DS, and PCI-DSS constraints Proven experience with core banking ledgers or digital wallet systems Experience integrating KYC and AML providers (e.g., identity verification, transaction monitoring) Solid security foundation (OAuth2, m TLS, encryption at rest and in transit)5+ years of experience building high-concurrency backend systems Deep experience with microservices and event-driven architectures (Kafka, Rabbit MQ) Strong Postgre SQL knowledge (isolation levels, locking strategies, financial data modeling) Strong background designing REST and g RPC APIs with backward-compatibility guarantees
