Role Description
The role is responsible for conducting and supporting fraud investigations to identify, respond to, and mitigate fraudulent activities that impact customers and company assets. It focuses on the timely investigation of suspected fraud cases, evidence gathering, root cause analysis, and recommending corrective actions to strengthen fraud controls. The role also supports the preparation of investigation reports, ensures compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, and collaborates with stakeholders to support effective fraud response and resolution. Key Responsibilities
Fraud Investigation: Assists the Head of Fraud Investigation & Response in conducting end-to-end fraud investigations, ensuring cases are managed effectively, investigated thoroughly, and concluded within agreed service levels. Case Management: Reviews fraud alerts, referrals, and customer complaints to determine the validity of suspected fraud, gathers evidence, documents findings, and maintains accurate case records. Evidence Collection & Analysis: Conducts detailed analysis of transactional, customer, and system data to identify fraud patterns, determine root causes, and support investigation outcomes. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Ensures all investigations are conducted in accordance with internal policies, the Counter Fraud Fundamental Requirement framework, and applicable regulatory and legal requirements. Investigation Reporting: Prepares comprehensive investigation reports, documenting evidence, findings, conclusions, recommendations, and lessons learned. Ensures all investigation reports are accurate, objective, and compliant with internal investigation standards, company policies, regulatory requirements, and legal expectations before submission to management and relevant stakeholders. Investigation Outcome Reporting: Prepares and presents investigation outcome reports, ensuring conclusions are supported by evidence, recommendations are clearly documented, and reports meet established quality standards, internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations. Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinates with internal departments, including Operations, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Information Security, and supports engagement with external parties, such as law enforcement or regulatory authorities, where required. Trend Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Identifies emerging fraud trends and recurring issues from investigations, providing insights to enhance fraud detection capabilities and improve investigative processes. Awareness & Knowledge Sharing: Supports fraud awareness initiatives by sharing investigation outcomes, emerging fraud typologies, and best practices across the organisation. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field. Fluency in both English and Arabic. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in fraud investigations, financial crime investigations, forensic analysis, or a related field. Strong analytical skills with the ability to review transactional and customer data to identify suspicious activity and support investigations. Excellent report writing and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear, accurate, evidence-based investigation reports that comply with internal standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Sound understanding of fraud typologies, investigation methodologies, and applicable regulatory requirements. Strong interviewing, communication, and stakeholder management skills. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling sensitive information. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple investigations in a fast-paced environment.
