Job Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Shopify Developer & E-commerce Optimization Specialist to continuously optimize their Shopify storefront to improve conversion rates and the overall user experience. In this part-time remote role, you will manage and troubleshoot complex backend integrations, monitor critical performance metrics, and proactively resolve technical friction points. This position is ideal for a developer who can collaborate directly with the business owner to align site improvements with revenue and brand goals while maintaining seamless data and real-time inventory flows.
Schedule Flexible between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM Pacific Time (Irvine, California time zone) (20 hours per week)
Responsibilities Storefront Optimization: Continuously optimize the Shopify storefront to improve conversion rates, enhance user experience, and resolve user experience (UX) issues or broken flows. Catalog Management: Ensure proper product categorization and maintain highly accurate collections structures across the entire e-commerce site. System Integration: Manage and troubleshoot the integration between the Consigner inventory management system and Shopify, including complex meta field linking and real-time data syncs. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, page load speeds, and overall front-end technical site performance. Theme Customization: Implement custom Shopify Liquid code modifications to enhance theme functionality, layout structures, and brand presentation. Plugin Governance: Manage plugin compatibility, resolve technical conflicts arising from a multi-plugin Shopify environment, and conduct regular site audits to prioritize conversion opportunities.
Requirements Shopify Footprint: 2–5 years of hands-on experience with Shopify development and advanced Shopify Liquid customization. CRO Literacy: Strong understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles, Core Web Vitals, and e-commerce technical best practices. Integration Experience: Proven experience integrating third-party inventory management or CRM systems with Shopify. Operational Habits: High level of attention to detail, especially when managing complex product data, site architecture, and plugin dependencies. Autonomy: Strong problem-solving skills with the clear ability to work independently and proactively.
