Your Mission As Principal Engineer (Mechanical Design), you will:
Own the mechanical integration of complex missile platforms Lead structural, thermal, and modal simulations across lifecycles Guide design validation via testing: wind tunnel, static firing, vibration Approve engineering change proposals and uphold configuration control Mentor junior engineers and ensure team-wide technical maturity
You will safeguard mechanical design integrity across the entire development pipeline—from concept to deployment—while ensuring safety, integration viability, and lifecycle support.
What You'll Deliver Mechanical CAD architecture and integration layouts FEA simulation reports aligned with real-world tests Engine mounting specs, thermal shielding plans, and airflow management Manufacturing-ready detailed drawings Qualification procedures, change records, and compliance documentation
What You Bring Must-Haves:12+ years in aerospace/defense mechanical engineering Proven experience with missile or propulsion system design Mastery in CAD, PDM, and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS) Deep knowledge of MIL-STD-1760, AS9100, and environmental qualification testing MSc or PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering Multi-propulsion integration experience (glide, rocket, turbojet, turbofan) CFD expertise in pressure/thermal flow modeling Familiarity with fatigue life, modal analysis, and thermal cycling challenges
