Role : COBOL Developer (Remote) Location : Remote Compensation: USD $30–$60 per hour Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (Part-Time)
About the Role We are hiring for one of our clients seeking an experienced COBOL Developer to maintain and enhance enterprise legacy systems in a remote, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL-based applications Translate functional requirements into technical solutions Conduct code reviews and debugging Improve performance and reliability of legacy systems Document system changes and workflows Participate in team discussions and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional COBOL development experience Strong expertise in structured coding and debugging Experience working in enterprise environments Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently in a remote setting
Preferred Qualifications Experience with mainframe environments Familiarity with JCL, CICS, or DB2Experience in industries such as financial services or insurance
Additional Information Expected commitment: 15–25 hours per week Time zone overlap with client team may be required Contract duration to be discussed during the hiring process
