Position: Rust Developer – AI Expert Type: Contract (Part-time) Compensation: $20–$42/hour Location: Remote Commitment: Part-time
Role Responsibilities Design, develop, and optimize REST and Graph QL APIs using Rust Implement strong data validation, error handling, and API security practices Plan and execute database migrations, schema changes, and performance optimizations Test AI-powered coding models in Cursor and real development workflows Submit detailed bug reports, incident traces, and screenshots Participate in focused multi-day testing bursts evaluating AI impact on coding Collaborate with research teams via Slack and structured feedback loops Provide post-testing surveys and insights on model performance and developer experience
Requirements Strong years of professional backend development experience with strong Rust expertise Proven experience building and maintaining RESTful and Graph QL APIsSolid understanding of backend security, validation, and error handling Hands-on experience with database migrations and performance tuning Familiarity with AI coding tools; experience with Cursor is a strong plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear technical reporting Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, confidential, remote environments
