Job Description
ᴧ Supervision of Subordinates: Organize and supervise the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of Travel Retail activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner
ᴧ Budgets, Forecasting and Plans: Contribute to the preparation of the Travel Retail section budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget including monthly and yearly detailed forecasting so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified.
ᴧ Policies, Systems, Processes, & Procedures: Implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
ᴧ Day- to-day Operations: Supervises the day-to-day operations of Travel Retail to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.
ᴧ Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement sales plans and strategies to achieve targets in the travel retail sector.
- Monitor sales performance, forecast trends, and identify growth opportunities in travel retail channels.
- Analyze market dynamics and consumer behavior within travel retail to optimize product offerings.
ᴧ Account Management:
- Manage key relationships with duty-free operators, airport retailers, airlines, and other travel-related clients.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional deals to secure shelf space and visibility.
- Work closely with customers to ensure optimal product distribution, in-store placement, and promotion.
ᴧ Market Expansion:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within travel retail channels, expanding market presence.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to launch new products and ensure brand alignment with market demands.
ᴧ Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead and manage a sales team, providing guidance, performance feedback, and support.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations and achievement of sales objectives.
ᴧ Market & Competitor Analysis:
- Conduct competitive analysis and monitor travel retail trends to stay ahead in the market.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market research and competitor intelligence.
ᴧ Promotions & Trade Marketing:
- Coordinate with the marketing team to design and implement promotional activities and in-store activations to drive sales.
- Ensure that marketing and promotional materials are aligned with brand guidelines and are effectively executed in the travel retail environment.
ᴧ Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
ᴧ Reporting: Prepare reports timely and accurately to meet Savola and Travel Retail department requirements, policies and standards.
ᴧ Health, Safety, & Environment: Monitor the adherence to all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
