The Position:
The post of Driver to G4 - Senior Driver - Protocol and Admin Clerk is located in the UNFPA Libya Country Office, based in Tripoli. The position is required to provide reliable and safe driving services to the Representative, and team, and visitors, as well as protocol administrative and clerical support within the office in close collaboration with the International Operations Analyst.

Job Purpose:
Providing reliable and safe driving services, protocol, and administrative and clerical support, you will uphold the highest standards of discretion and integrity; have a deep sense of responsibility, and excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues, as well as administrative rules. You will demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact, and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
You would be responsible for:
- Provision of reliable and safe driving services
- Providing reliable and safe driving services by; driving office vehicles for the transport of the Regional Director, high-ranking officials and visitors; delivery and collection of mail and documentation; meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, including managing visa and customs formalities when required;

Keeping abreast of traffic and road and security and safety awareness to enable safe and on time arrival for meetings;
- Managing all aspects of vehicle maintenance; conducting minor repairs and cleaning; arranging for major repairs and service to ensure vehicle kept in good running condition; keeping daily vehicle logs; and assisting in the preparation of vehicle maintenance plans and history reports;
- Keeping track of insurance and tax formalities;
- Acting as a translator in local language for the Regional Director and/or official passengers, where necessary;
- Guiding and coaching junior drivers as appropriate.

Act as a back-up to G2 Driver during his/her absence.
2. Provision of Administrative and Clerical Support
- Manage air conditioning maintenance services and supervising company staff during provision of services.
- Assist Admin associate with conducting asset verification exercise.
- Perform petty cash custodian in Tripoli.
- Liaise with relevant authorities and arrange for airport access cards.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for operations workshops
- Assist ICT Specialist with equipment installation or dismantling, when required.
- Monitor building and facility maintenance issues and assess the need for engaging repairs
- Assist the Operations team with administrative tasks such as liaising with relevant authorities, and obtaining and completing documentation for the purchase of vehicles, local tax issues, vehicle-related issues with local authorities, assist international staff, when required, with Police and Migration Office-related issues.
- Assist the Finance Associate with maintaining complete records for fuel-related vouchers, as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Completed Secondary Education/High school or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience:
- Completed Secondary Education/High school or equivalent with Four years of work experience or Bachelor Degree with 1 Year of exp in driving, as a driver in an international organisation, an embassy, or the UN system, with a safe driving record.
- Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, local roads and conditions, and defensive driving skills.
- Skill in minor vehicle repairs.
- Experience in administrative/clerical support work in an office
Languages:
- Fluency in Arabic and working knowledge of English.
