A mixing operator is responsible for executing the manufacturing process as per the planned Volumes. He combines raw materials using Good Manufacturing Practices to create bulk recipe which is used to make finished products. Their specific responsibilities can vary depending on the industry, but typically include:

Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing Materials:

 

  • Receive the production plan from Supervisor.
  • Request for recipe from QC as per set production plan.
  • Raise request for RM as per the plan to Production Supervisor and follow up his request also to avoid delays.
  • Make sure that the requested RM are quality approved.
  • He should be capable of understanding the quality of products (Physical Appearance, Odor and taste).
  • Must ensure that all received RM have long shelf life, must refrain from using expired RM.
  • Identify the helpers as per their capabilities.
  • Ensure the cleaning and sanitation of machine and Utensils before starting any operations.
  • Allocate task of weighing to capable helper and use other helper if required for just loading/offloading work.
  • Ensure that raw materials are measured accurately. He must keep an eye on his helpers.
  • Perform weighing of all sensitive raw materials like flavors and preservative weighment.

 

  1. Operating Equipment:
  • Go through the SOP for Machine to produce the allocated recipe.
  • Ensure that mixer, tanks, pipeline, utensils, weighment and storage cans are clean for operation.
  • Set up and operate designated mixing machines or equipment.
  • Adjust equipment settings as needed to achieve desired consistency and quality.

 

  1. Monitoring and Controlling Processes:
  • Monitor the mixing process to ensure it is running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Adjust equipment or processes based on observations or data.
  • CCP and OPRP monitoring.
  • Water temp and Oil temp, calibration weighing scale.

 

  1. Ensuring Quality:

 

  • Must perform regular sampling of the mixed product to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Must be capable of tasting and understanding that mixed products comply, specification.
  • Perform tests and inspections on the final product or intermediate stages to verify specifications with quality technician.

 

  1. Maintaining Records:

 

  • Keep detailed records of mixing processes, including material usage, batch numbers, and any deviations from standard procedures.
  • Timely fill the Batch processing log sheets and CCP documents.
  • Document any issues encountered and the steps taken to resolve them.

 

  1. Cleaning and Maintenance:
  • Clean mixing equipment and work areas regularly to prevent contamination and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Must know thoroughly all the CIP Steps.
  • CIP monitoring, Cleaning and inspection sieves, filter, magnetic trap.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment or report any malfunctions to maintenance personnel.

 

  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to the mixing process.

 

  1. Collaborating with Team Members:
  • Work closely with other operators, supervisors, and quality control personnel to ensure seamless production.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns promptly to relevant team members.

 

  1. Troubleshooting:
  • Identify and address any issues or inconsistencies in the mixing process.
  • Implement corrective actions to resolve problems and prevent recurrence.

 

  1. Training and Guidance:
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced operators as needed.
  1. Share best practices and techniques for efficient and effective mixing.


Skills

  • Ability to write and read English
  • Proficiency in operating mixing machinery and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality standards in manufacturing.
  • Strong mathematical skills for measuring and calculating ingredient quantities.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
