Job Summary:
The Roads Surveyor is responsible for conducting precise land and road surveys to support the design, construction, and maintenance of road infrastructure. This role involves using surveying instruments and software to collect, analyze, and verify data ensuring road alignments, levels, and boundaries meet design specifications and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct topographic, boundary, and road layout surveys using total stations, GPS, and other modern surveying equipment.
- Prepare and interpret survey data, drawings, and maps for road construction projects.
- Establish horizontal and vertical control points and ensure all survey benchmarks are accurately maintained.
- Collaborate with engineers and site supervisors to set out road alignments, levels, and grades according to approved design drawings.
- Perform as-built surveys and prepare corresponding documentation and reports.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of survey data throughout the project.
- Maintain calibration and operational efficiency of all surveying instruments.
- Prepare daily and weekly survey reports, logs, and records.
- Verify subcontractors’ works for alignment, levels, and dimensions.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
Skills
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in road and infrastructure surveying.
- Proficient in using Total Station, GPS (Leica, Trimble, etc.), and AutoCAD/Civil 3D software.
- Strong understanding of road design drawings, profiles, and cross-sections.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
Preferred:
- Experience in highway, road, or infrastructure projects in the Gulf region.
- Valid UAE (or GCC) driving license.
