Country Manager - Libya Region

Position Summary:

We are looking for an ambitious and strategic Country Manager to lead our operations in the Libya region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sales and business development within the FMCG sector, particularly in food manufacturing. This role requires a strong leader who can drive business growth, build robust customer relationships, and navigate the unique market dynamics of the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive market strategy for the Libya region, aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts.
  • Build and manage relationships with key distributors, retailers, and partners to establish a strong presence in the market.
  • Lead and mentor the local sales and operational teams, ensuring alignment with company goals and high-performance standards.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify opportunities and address challenges effectively.
  • Oversee the execution of sales and marketing plans to achieve volume, revenue, and profitability targets.
  • Manage budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, and ethical business practices.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility.
  • Provide regular performance reports, market insights, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, and product development, to support business objectives.

Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • At least 15 years of experience in sales and business development, with a minimum of 5 years in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and managing operations in the FMCG sector, preferably within the Libya region or similar markets.
  • Strong understanding of the cultural, economic, and regulatory landscape of Libya.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
