The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in the manufacturing process within the FMCG industry. This position is responsible for overseeing production operations, ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to meet production goals.
Responsibilities:
1. To supervise and coordinate the activities of the workers engaged in products, while applying knowledge of machine setup and operating techniques and production machining methods.
2. To read operating logs to identify inoperative machines, determine reasons for machine malfunction and arrange for the machine repair.
3. Review the production schedules and work orders, and assign duties to the workers according tothe order priorities.
4. To study the quality control reports ,to identify product defects and direct the machine operators ,to adjust the machine parameters in order to eliminate flaws.
5. Examine moulded products from each machine to verify conformance to the specifications.
6. Work in coordination with the quality team and ensure that the product meet all the quality requirements and changes are made to the machine settings whenever deviations are reported by the quality team, until the product reaches conformance level.
7. Record the machine parameters for each product.
8. Ensure proper reporting to the management by completing all reports for e.g. production card, daily report,finished goods transfer, raw material receiving, production logbook etc.
9. Conduct or direct training of new employees in the machine operation.
10. Confers with the management and other supervisors/ managers to resolve the production problems.
11. Troubleshoot non-conforming parts, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as needed.
12. Responsible for the life cycle of the equipment and ensure all preventative maintenance and calibration is completed as needed.
13. Recommend new equipment to meet the company needs and equipment obsolescence.
14. Report to the Production Manager/ Factory Manager.
15. Perform all tasks apart from the above mentioned, as and when required to be performed by the management.
