Our client is a Libyan Telecommunication Company ( ISP )  searching for an enthusiastic senior network engineer that is eager to take on new challenges.

Job Description:

The senior network engineer's job is to assume responsibility for overseeing the workflow involved in maintaining a company’s enterprise network. They are responsible for designing and implementing the company’s network infrastructure, resolving advanced support issues, and managing the junior network engineering staff.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and support company's growing network infrastructure. You will be part of a systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Monitoring network engineering performance and ensuring system availability and reliability.

• Collaborating with network architects to design, redesign and implement functional company networks.

• Installing and configuring networking hardware.

• Creating and implementing network security measures.

• Managing and mentoring junior Network Engineering staff.

• Conducting regular network performance tests.

• Dealing with escalated network support issues.

• Drawing up network status reports.

• Configuring and installing various network devices and services.

• Performing network maintenance and system upgrades.

• Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).

• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.

• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.

• Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.

• Provide support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.

• Configure and install network hardware and software using knowledge of communication and routing protocol

• Ensure all machines on the network are communicating smoothly. 

• Monitor network performance and integrity. 

• Mentor members within the department to increase employees’ motivation. 

• Maintain complete documentation and ensure all security protocol is followed through configuration and monitoring of user access levels, data access history, and any other security concern.

• Delegate tasks relating to network maintenance and train junior network engineers.

• Show flexibility within the company’s full scope of work as the nature of tasks may vary and the company may request assistance from time to time with other tasks outside the nominal job description.

• Communicate with users when needed.

• Maintain complete technical documentation.

• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability.

• Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer.

Requirements and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field.

• CCNP, CCNP enterprise certified or higher.

• Knowledge of CCNP service provider.

• Knowledge of Quality of service.

• Knowledge of layer 2 technology.

• Knowledge of layer 3 technology.

• Knowledge of VPN RA and S2S.

• Knowledge of network security.

• Previous work experience as a networking engineer more than 3 years.

• Deep understanding of networking protocols.

• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.

• Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.

• High-level problem-solving and communication skills.
