Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Steel Door Draftsman, you will be responsible for creating and refining technical drawings and specifications for steel door products. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and the installation team to ensure that designs meet client requirements, building regulations, and production standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Drawing Creation: Follow detailed specifications and calculations to produce various technical drawings for steel doors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design requirements.
• Shop Drawings Preparation: Prepare shop drawings using software based on client specifications and project requirements, ensuring clarity and precision in the design.
• Material Calculations: Perform calculations related to materials and weight limitations to ensure structural integrity and compliance with project constraints.
• Collaboration and Communication: Communicate effectively with architects and engineers to incorporate their feedback and knowledge into the technical drawings, facilitating accurate and functional design.
• Problem Identification and Resolution: Identify potential design problems and communicate them to the team, proposing solutions to prevent delays and ensure project success.
• Production Drawings Preparation: Prepare production drawings based on approved shop drawings, providing detailed instructions for the manufacturing process.
• Bill of Materials (BOM) Calculation: Calculate the Bill of Materials (BOM) required for production purposes, ensuring accurate quantities and specifications for manufacturing.
• Installation Coordination: Coordinate with the installation team to clarify drawings and key plans, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with the design intent.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Experience: 2 years of experience in drafting and design, preferably with steel doors.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CADD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and knowledge of steel door manufacturing processes.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify design issues and propose practical solutions to ensure project success.

Working Conditions:

• Work Environment: Office-based.
• Hours: 8 AM TO 5 PM.
