Job Title: Senior Fixed Assets Accountant

Work Location: Misurata, Libya

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all financial transactions related to fixed assets (additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation).

• Maintain and continuously update the official Fixed Asset Register (FAR).

• Organize and execute periodic and annual physical inventory counts of fixed assets, reconciling physical counts with General Ledger accounts.

• Calculate and post monthly and yearly depreciation expenses in accordance with approved accounting standards.

• Prepare asset valuation schedules and impairment test reports while coordinating with internal and external auditors.

• Track fixed asset movements across plants and departments, ensuring proper documentation.

Job Requirements:

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in fixed assets or financial accounting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience using Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP, such as Odoo ).

• In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (specifically IAS 16 - Property, Plant, and Equipment).

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.

• High attention to detail, strong reconciliation skills, and analytical thinking.
